1st Owners -
Mr and Mrs Sisson from Manchester. Or was it the Childer family. There seems to be some dispute. Either way it seems they worth both connected to this establishment.

History -
Old Colonial style Hotel in the British's favourite Hill Station Kalaw. Only the Strand in Yangon is older.
The Japanese bombed downtown Kalaw during WWII. When theJapanese invaded they came to the hotel and took Mrs Childers away and tortured her.
After the war she was evecuated back to the UK. The hotel was used for Peace Negotiations. Mrs Childer's heart was in Kalwaw and she returned to the town and stayed for the rest of her life.
